Voorheesville Public Library’s
Gail Brown
named Public Librarian of the Year
by New York State Library Association

Voorheesville Public Library is proud to announce that Gail Brown, Head of Youth and Family Services, was named Public Librarian of the Year by the New York State Library Association. The award was presented at the NYLA Annual Conference in Syracuse, NY on Friday, November 5th.

“Gail Brown’s dedication to provide meaningful programs to the children and families we serve throughout the COVID pandemic was definitely a major factor in NYLA’s decision,” said Library Director, Sarah Clark. “She’s a tireless advocate for the library, forging community partnerships that benefit patrons of all ages.”

“Gail goes above and beyond to create learning opportunities for our staff and students. Voorheesville Central School District is lucky to have Gail supporting our students and district,” shared Frank Macri, School Superintendent.

This award is the second for Brown and the library this year. In June, Voorheesville Public Library was awarded the Upper Hudson Library System’s Program of the Year Award for Children and Families for the 2020 Nursery Rhyme & Fairy Tale Adventure Drive-Through.
